    The camera of the Vivo X300 Ultra and the camera of the OPPO Find X9 Ultra are the two most ambitious photographic systems in smartphones of 2026. Both have a dual 200 MP setup, but differ in philosophy and zoom range.

    Main camera — the same sensor, different approach

    Both phones use the same Sony LYT-901 sensor (1/1.12″) — one of the largest in smartphones. The key difference lies in the optics:

    Vivo X300 Ultra has a brighter telephoto lens with gimbal OIS stabilization and ZEISS T* certification (anti-reflective coatings). The f/1.85 aperture is a solid result.

    OPPO Find X9 Ultra has two telephoto lenses: 200 MP 3× periscope (70 mm) and 50 MP 10× periscope (230 mm) — both built into the phone. You don’t need any accessories to achieve 10× optical zoom. Lossless zoom reaches up to 40-50× thanks to computations.

    In the range of 3-5× both phones will deliver excellent photos from the 200 MP sensors. Above 5× OPPO has a built-in 10× zoom, while Vivo needs a teleconverter. But with the teleconverter, Vivo achieves 17.4× at full 200 MP — a range unavailable to any other smartphone.

    Here Vivo X300 Ultra has a significant advantage. The Sony LYTIA 818 (1/1.28″) sensor is much larger than the Sony LYT-600 (1/1.95″) in OPPO. Additionally, the ultrawide Vivo has its own OIS stabilization, which is lacking in OPPO.

    Night Photos

    Both phones use the same main sensor, the Sony LYT-901, but OPPO has a brighter lens (f/1.5 vs f/1.85). In theory, this provides about 40% more light on the sensor, which should translate to better night photos from the main camera.

    Vivo responds with gimbal stabilization OIS, which allows for longer exposure times without blur. In practice, both approaches yield great results at night.
