vivo X500 Pro Max vs OPPO Find X10 Pro Max is a battle of zoom versus versatility. vivo wins with its telephoto camera (200 MP on a 1/1.4″ sensor, 85 mm), a 400 mm teleconverter and a sharper 2K display. OPPO answers with a 200 MP ultra-wide camera, 8K video on every lens and — if the leaks about vivo are confirmed — a bigger battery in the European version. Both use the same Dimensity 9600 Pro processor.
On paper, these are the closest rivals of this autumn. Both phones launched in China one day apart, both are called Pro Max, and both target people who buy a smartphone primarily for its camera. They differ, however, in their approach to photography: vivo bets on long-range zoom, while OPPO goes for three equally capable 200 MP cameras.
We checked the official specifications from both manufacturers, the Chinese price lists, vivo’s energy label from the EU EPREL database (via arecenze.cz) and posts by insider @TechHome100. Below you will find a module-by-module camera comparison, plus the display, battery and prices, and an answer to which model makes sense for you.
As of October 22, 2026: the OPPO Find X10 Pro Max is already on sale in Poland (since October 21). The vivo X500 Pro Max has its European launch on October 27 at 4:00 PM and its Polish launch on the same day at 5:30 PM (both times in Central European Time, CET). The vivo data comes from the official Chinese specification. The European version may differ in battery and memory configuration, and there are no official European or Polish prices yet. We will update this article after the launch.

Quick verdict: which model is for whom
Choose the vivo X500 Pro Max if:
- you shoot from a distance: concerts, sports, wildlife — the 200 MP periscope has a larger sensor and a longer focal length (85 mm vs 70 mm),
- you are considering a teleconverter — vivo supports two Zeiss lenses, including a 400 mm one, while OPPO offers one, around 230 mm,
- you want a sharper display: 2K and 507 ppi vs 1.5K and 450 ppi on the OPPO,
- you shoot slow motion — vivo natively records 4K at 240 fps.
Choose the OPPO Find X10 Pro Max if:
- you often shoot ultra-wide or up close — you get 200 MP on a 1/1.56″ sensor instead of 50 MP on 1/2.75″, plus macro from 4 cm,
- you record a lot of video — 8K and 4K 120 fps with Dolby Vision work on each of the three rear cameras, and there is also Open Gate,
- you want certainty about the battery in the European version — OPPO officially states 7150 mAh, while vivo has not yet confirmed its figure,
- you want to buy a phone right away and know the price — in Poland the OPPO costs 6,999 PLN, and €1,799 in Germany and France.
We gathered earlier information about the vivo series, from before the Chinese launch, in September in our article on the vivo X500 Pro Max specifications, colors and launch. If you have already made your choice, you will find screen protectors and films in the vivo X500 Pro Max and OPPO Find X10 Pro Max categories.
vivo X500 Pro Max vs OPPO Find X10 Pro Max specifications — table

vivo X500 Pro Max vs OPPO Find X10 Pro Max camera — module by module
This is the most important part of the comparison. The manufacturers placed their emphasis almost in opposite ways: vivo invested in the telephoto camera, while OPPO brought the ultra-wide up to the level of its other cameras.

| Module | vivo X500 Pro Max | OPPO Find X10 Pro Max |
|---|---|---|
| Main | 50 MP, 1/1.28″, f/1.57, 24 mm, OIS with 3° tilt, CIPA 7.0, Sony LYTIA L910 with LOFIC¹ | 200 MP, 1/1.3″, f/1.5, 24 mm, OIS (CIPA 6.5¹), Samsung ISOCELL HPC with DeepPix¹ |

| Zoom | 3.5× optical, up to 100× digital | 3× optical, 6× lossless according to OPPO |
| Teleconverters | Zeiss 200 mm and Zeiss 400 mm | Hasselblad, approx. 230 mm |
| Optics | Zeiss, T* coatings | Hasselblad |
¹ The manufacturers do not list these sensor models and values in their specifications. vivo refers to the “Blueprint Light Control 900” sensor, co-defined with Sony, and OPPO to “DeepPix technology”. We give them according to @TechHome100 and reviews of the Find X10 Pro Max (Digital Camera World, HardwareZone). The vivo telephoto sensor model (Samsung ISOCELL HP0) is confirmed by the manufacturer itself.
Main camera: LOFIC vs DeepPix
The sensors are almost the same size: 1/1.28″ in the vivo and 1/1.3″ in the OPPO. They differ in resolution (50 MP vs 200 MP) and in how they handle large differences in brightness within the frame.
vivo relies on LOFIC, an extra capacitor at each pixel that captures excess charge before the bright parts of the image blow out. According to @TechHome100, the Sony LYTIA L910 sensor has dual-channel LOFIC, a pixel full-well capacity of up to 250,000 electrons and a record-low read noise (0.75 e-). This is meant to eliminate the typical weaknesses of LOFIC: noise and higher power consumption.
OPPO chose DeepPix: instead of adding a capacitor, it deepens the photodiode itself. We described how this technology works in detail in our OPPO Find X10 Pro Max vs X9 Ultra comparison. According to the same insider, the HPC sensor has a pixel full-well capacity of around 160,000 electrons.
Both manufacturers claim 17 EV of dynamic range, but under different conditions. vivo gives this figure for vivo Log mode, while OPPO gives it for standard video at 1× zoom. The numbers look identical, but they cannot be compared directly.
Note: the pixel capacity and read noise figures come from an insider, not from an independent test. Neither phone has a DXOMARK score yet — the lab has only announced tests of both models.
Stabilization speaks in vivo’s favor. The optical image stabilization (OIS) module of the main camera tilts by 3°, and the manufacturer claims CIPA 7.0. According to the insider, that is twice the range of the previous generation.
Telephoto: 3.5× and 1/1.4″ vs 3× and 1/1.56″
This is the heart of the vivo. The periscope has 200 MP on a 1/1.4″ sensor, about a quarter larger than the 1/1.56″ sensor in the OPPO. The 85 mm (3.5×) focal length is a classic portrait length and a better starting point for long-range zoom than 70 mm.
OPPO, on the other hand, has a brighter aperture: f/2.1 vs f/2.67. On paper, this partly offsets the difference in sensor size. On top of that, there is tele macro from 10 cm instead of 15 cm and 6× (140 mm) zoom that OPPO calls lossless.
vivo adds features for sports and concerts: burst shooting with up to 30× zoom with an assistant that keeps the subject in the center of the frame, and a refreshed stage mode. Subject tracking in the 10–30× range will come to the phone with a software update.
Ultra-wide: OPPO wins here, and clearly
In the OPPO, the ultra-wide camera has 200 MP on a 1/1.56″ sensor; in the vivo — 50 MP on 1/2.75″. The OPPO sensor has roughly three times the surface area, which usually means cleaner landscape and interior shots after dark.
OPPO also offers macro from 4 cm with autofocus and a 13 mm focal length. vivo does not state the focal length of its ultra-wide camera. If you photograph architecture and interiors or take group shots up close, you will notice this difference every day.
Teleconverters: 400 mm vs 230 mm
Both phones support attachable lenses, but vivo has a clear advantage in reach here.

| vivo X500 Pro Max | OPPO Find X10 Pro Max | |
|---|---|---|
| Lenses | Zeiss Teleconverter G2 and G2 Ultra | Hasselblad Teleconverter 3.28× |
| Used with | 85 mm periscope | 70 mm periscope |
| Focal length | approx. 200 mm (G2) and approx. 400 mm (G2 Ultra) | approx. 230 mm (10×), further 20× and 40× with AI |
| Design | G2: 153 g, 96 mm long; G2 Ultra: according to vivo, meets the APO standard when combined with the X500 Pro Max | no data from OPPO |
| Accessories | grip with buttons, case, external preview screen (sold separately) | case with mounting plate, strap, carrying case, tripod mount |
| Price | sold separately in China; in Europe to be confirmed | 1,499 PLN for the kit in Poland |
vivo openly advertises the kit with the 400 mm lens as concert gear. @TechHome100 gives similar advice: if you often go to concerts, choose the X500 Pro Max with the 400 mm teleconverter. TechRadar writes after its test that no phone from OPPO, Honor or Apple can match this lens.
The OPPO teleconverter only works in its own camera mode: without Master, night, long exposure, slow motion and Pro Video modes. vivo has not yet published a list of limitations for its lenses. For both brands, keep in mind that the teleconverter is mounted via the case included in the kit — a regular case will not work with it.
To be confirmed on October 27: according to a leak by Roland Quandt, a photography kit with the X500 Pro Max will be available in Europe for €1,999. It is not yet known whether vivo’s teleconverters will be sold separately in Poland.
Video: slow motion in the vivo, versatility in the OPPO
Both phones are very strong in video, but each excels at something different.
| Feature | vivo X500 Pro Max | OPPO Find X10 Pro Max |
|---|---|---|
| Maximum resolution | 8K | 8K 30 fps on all three rear cameras |
| 4K 120 fps | 10-bit Log, person and subject focus tracking | Dolby Vision at every optical focal length |
| Slow motion | 4K 240 fps natively, 4K 960 fps with interpolation (via update) | 4K 120, 1080p 240, 720p 240 fps |
| Log and color | vivo Log, 3D LUT, ACES² | O-Log2, ACES, custom 3D LUTs |
| Open Gate (4:3 from the full sensor) | no information | ✅ 4096×3072, up to 60 fps |
| Portrait video | 4K 60 fps; 4K 30 fps with Dolby Vision and beautification | Hasselblad portraits at three focal lengths |
| Audio | four microphones | — |
| Third-party apps | — | Blackmagic Camera from November 2026 |
² According to @TechHome100; vivo also records footage in the APV 10-bit 4:2:2 codec.
vivo wins in slow motion: 4K at 240 fps is rare in a phone, and an update will add a 960 fps effect computed by an algorithm. On top of that, there is focus tracking in 4K 120 fps and laser autofocus with more than a thousand points.
OPPO wins in consistency: 8K, 4K 120 fps with Dolby Vision and 10-bit Log work on every camera. Open Gate lets you record a 4:3 frame from the full sensor and then crop a vertical frame for Reels and a horizontal one for YouTube from it.
Zeiss or Hasselblad: colors and modes
vivo has been working with Zeiss for years. The X500 Pro Max has T* coatings on its lenses, new cinematic styles (including “Paris Afterglow”, “Sunny Day” and the cool “Silver Halide”) and a “Film” mode that gives recordings a cinematic look straight away. There is also a documentary mode that records a flat, “grey” image and supports LUT import.
OPPO works with Hasselblad. The Find X10 Pro Max has the LUMO True Image Engine, 18 LUMO Color Palette color styles, the XPAN format and Master mode. The additional color camera with 24 spectral channels helps render colors accurately when several light sources mix in the frame.
Color rendering is a matter of taste, and there are no independent tests of both phones in the same scenes yet. Before you choose, compare sample photos from both models.
Display, performance and software
Display: 2K in the vivo, 1.5K in the OPPO
vivo has a noticeably sharper panel: 6.85″, 3168×1440 and 507 ppi. According to vivo, it is the first phone with a BOE Q11 panel in 2K resolution. OPPO has 6.78″ and 2772×1272, which gives 450 ppi. According to @TechHome100, OPPO uses a Tianma N1 panel.
vivo also claims much higher peak brightness: 4400 nits on 20% of the screen area and 2000 nits full-screen. OPPO states 2000 nits in high brightness mode. Both displays are flat and go down to 1 nit.
OPPO, on the other hand, has higher-frequency PWM dimming: 3840 Hz vs 2160 Hz in the vivo (according to @TechHome100). If screen flicker at low brightness bothers you, that is an argument in OPPO’s favor. Both phones use an adaptive refresh rate, and 144 Hz works in selected games.
Performance: the same processor
Both models have the MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro built on a 2 nm process, with two 4.55 GHz cores and Mali-G2-Ultra graphics. vivo adds its own image processing chips (according to @TechHome100, VS1 and V3+), while OPPO processes photos in the main chip itself.
In China, the vivo has LPDDR5X Ultra memory and UFS 4.1 storage, in variants of up to 16 GB RAM and 1 TB. The European OPPO is available only in a 12/512 GB version. We will learn the vivo configurations for Europe at the launch.
Software
Both phones ship with Android 17. In China, vivo runs the OriginOS 7 skin and OPPO runs ColorOS 17. vivo will confirm which software the European X500 Pro Max gets on October 27.
Battery and charging
Battery: watch out for the European vivo
This is the most common trap when reading Chinese specifications. In China, both phones have 8000 mAh, but in Europe OPPO officially dropped to 7150 mAh. A similar cut most likely awaits the vivo, except that the manufacturer has not yet given any figures.
| Source | vivo X500 Pro Max | OPPO Find X10 Pro Max |
|---|---|---|
| Official, China | 8000 mAh typical / 7800 mAh rated | 8000 mAh typical / 7790 mAh rated |
| Official, Europe | no data until October 27 | 7150 mAh typical / 6960 mAh rated |
| EU EPREL database (via arecenze.cz) | 6570 mAh rated | — |
| @TechHome100 (October 16, 2026) | approx. 6750 mAh outside China | — |
Why the confusion? On October 21, @TechHome100 wrote about a 7800 mAh battery. That is the rated capacity of the Chinese version — exactly what vivo lists on its Chinese website — not the European one. According to Notebookcheck, which cites a listing from a Hong Kong store, the global version sold in Asia has a similar capacity. However, Europe will most likely get a model with a smaller cell — as the EPREL label indicates.
If the leaks are confirmed, the European OPPO will have about 400 mAh more than the vivo. The vivo EPREL label also states 72 hours of use per cycle in the EU test, but we do not have the same figure for OPPO to compare.
Charging: 90 W vs 80 W, the other way round for wireless
The Chinese vivo charges at up to 90 W wired and 40 W wireless (with the 50 W vivo charger). OPPO has 80 W SUPERVOOC or UFCS and 50 W wireless. We will learn the charging power of the European vivo after the launch.
Neither phone has built-in magnets — the lack of Qi2 magnets in the OPPO is confirmed by Digital Camera World, and vivo’s preview screen requires a magnetic case. So for magnetic wireless chargers you need a case with a magnetic ring.
Tip: look for a charger with USB Power Delivery and PPS rated at 60 W or more. You can choose one from our wall chargers for smartphones. Only original vivo and OPPO chargers deliver the full power claimed by the manufacturer.
Dimensions, design and colors
The vivo is thinner: 7.95 mm in the black version and 8.12 mm in the others, vs 8.40 mm for the OPPO. The weight is practically the same: 225–229 g for the vivo (Chinese version) and 226–228 g for the European OPPO. The vivo, however, is 2 mm taller.
Both are rated IP68 and IP69, meaning they withstand submersion and jets of hot water. OPPO additionally has IP66. vivo has a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint reader, an aluminum frame and a glass back (in three colors).

In China, the vivo X500 Pro Max comes in four colors: grey “Earth Echo”, white “Clear Day”, orange “Aurora Glow” and black “Capture the Night”. The base X500 got a pink “Dawn” instead of orange. vivo will confirm which colors come to Europe on October 27. Roland Quandt’s leak mentions black and grey.
In Europe, the OPPO Find X10 Pro Max comes in two colors: white Luna White and grey Titanium Grey.
vivo X500 Pro Max and OPPO Find X10 Pro Max prices
China: vivo slightly more expensive
This is the only market where we know the official prices of both phones:
| Variant (China) | vivo X500 Pro Max | OPPO Find X10 Pro Max |
|---|---|---|
| 12/256 GB | ¥6,999 | ¥6,799 |
| 12/512 GB | ¥7,999 | ¥7,499 |
| 16/512 GB | ¥8,499 | ¥7,999 |
| 12 GB / 1 TB | ¥8,999 (with satellite connectivity) | — |
| 16 GB / 1 TB | ¥9,499 (with satellite connectivity) | ¥8,999 |
| Creator kit | ¥12,999 (16 GB / 1 TB with accessories) | — |
In China, the vivo is 200–500 yuan more expensive in comparable variants. However, both 1 TB vivo versions have satellite connectivity, which only works in China.
Europe: OPPO official, vivo from a leak
The OPPO Find X10 Pro Max costs €1,799 in the OPPO store in Germany and France and £1,499 in the United Kingdom (12/512 GB).
There is no official vivo price yet. According to a leak by Roland Quandt, the X500 Pro Max in the 12/512 GB version will cost €1,799 in Europe, and the photography kit €1,999. If this is confirmed, both phones will cost the same in the eurozone.
Poland: OPPO 6,999 PLN, vivo around 7,000 PLN
In the Polish OPPO store, the OPPO Find X10 Pro Max costs 6,999 PLN, and the Hasselblad teleconverter kit costs 1,499 PLN separately or 7,699 PLN together with the phone.
The vivo X500 Pro Max is expected to cost around 7,000 PLN in Poland, practically the same as the OPPO. The manufacturer will announce the official price at the launch on October 27 at 5:30 PM. According to vivo’s European store, sales in Europe will start on November 5. We will add the price here right after the launch.
Screen protectors and camera protection for both models
Both phones have large, protruding camera islands and different dimensions, so each needs its own accessories. A screen protector for the vivo will not cover the OPPO’s display, and the camera protector of one does not fit the other.
For the vivo X500 Pro Max we already have tempered and hybrid glass, screen protector films and camera lens glass. The other models in the series are collected in the vivo X500 Series category.
[hs_products category=»2673″ limit=»6″ sort=»sales» title=»Protection for vivo X500 Pro Max»]
For the OPPO Find X10 Pro Max you will find tempered and hybrid glass, screen and back protector films, and camera lens glass:
[hs_products category=»2669″ limit=»6″ sort=»sales» title=»Protection for OPPO Find X10 Pro Max»]
Note: the teleconverters of both brands are mounted via the case from the photography kit. A regular case will serve you every day, but for shooting with the teleconverter you will need to move the phone into the manufacturer’s case.
vivo X500 Pro Max or OPPO Find X10 Pro Max — which one to buy?
The answer depends on how far away you shoot and whether you are willing to wait.
Do you go to concerts and matches or photograph wildlife? The vivo X500 Pro Max. The larger periscope sensor, the 85 mm focal length and the 400 mm teleconverter give the longest reach in this class today. The OPPO with its teleconverter reaches about 230 mm.
Do you shoot a bit of everything and record a lot of video? The OPPO Find X10 Pro Max. Three 200 MP cameras deliver consistent quality at every focal length, and 8K and Dolby Vision work on each of them. Add Open Gate to that. The ultra-wide is clearly better than in the vivo.
Does the display matter most? The vivo. 2K, 507 ppi and 4400 nits make for a sharper and brighter panel. The exception: if you are sensitive to flicker, OPPO has higher-frequency PWM dimming.
Does battery life matter most? For now, the OPPO, because its European 7150 mAh is confirmed. If the leaks about around 6750 mAh in the European vivo turn out to be true, OPPO will keep its advantage.
Do you want to buy now? In Poland, the OPPO has been on sale since October 21 for 6,999 PLN. The vivo is expected to cost about the same, around 7,000 PLN; we will learn the official price on October 27, and sales in Europe are set to start on November 5. If you are torn between the two, it is worth waiting a week for the vivo launch.
We cover camera phones in this class in more detail in our ranking of the best camera phones of 2026. A year ago, the same rivalry looked different — see our OPPO Find X9 Pro vs vivo X300 Pro comparison. According to @TechHome100, it is the X300 Pro that is the direct predecessor of the X500 Pro Max.
