  • iPhone 8 – what’s new?

One of the most important mobile market launches is just around the corner. The anniversary iPhone model must meet the high expectations of customers accustomed to very successful devices from competing brands.

For several months, we have been seeing repeated leaks about the appearance of the new Apple device. In the new model, a bold step has been taken towards changing the design – Apple seems to have felt the hot breath of competition on its neck.

According to leaks, the new iPhone is supposed to have significantly smaller bezels around the screen than previous models, as well as several improvements that will allow the new iPhone 8 to compete with devices like the Galaxy S8 or the upcoming Galaxy Note 8. The separate section with the Home button has been abandoned, but it is not entirely certain what will happen to the fingerprint reader – whether Apple will implement a biometric sensor built into the display, or if unlocking the new iPhone will only be possible using your face. The vertical arrangement of the camera lenses on the back looks quite fresh.

This is the first model from the Cupertino giant that will be equipped with wireless charging features and a glass casing, something that the competition has already accustomed us to.

Still based on leaks, in addition to the aforementioned novelties, the iPhone 8 is expected to be equipped with:

    • – New A11 processor
    • – OLED screen (not in all models)
    • – New 3D face recognition technology
    • – 4 colors including one “mirror” color

In the Home Screen store, you will soon find cases for iPhone 8, glass, and other protective accessories for this model. As always, these will be top-quality products that perfectly fit the Apple smartphone.

  • A breath of fresh air on HomeScreen.pl

A brand new version of the Home Screen store has recently launched, and the changes are not just about its appearance. Find out what has changed and why it’s better.

The previous look of the site, although still well-presented and modern, has been with you since almost the very beginning of the store’s existence. Over these few years, it has become tiresome for regular visitors and administrators to the extent that a decision was made – it needs to change. And not just the appearance and logo.

Along with the design change, the store’s responsiveness has also been improved – now, whether you browse the store on your smartphone or a 40-inch monitor, you will have absolutely no problem using it. We have also improved contact – at any time, you can write to us from the store via Messenger (icon in the bottom left corner). Separate versions of the store for retail and wholesale customers – the new version of the store is available only for retail customers, for “wholesalers” the old version of the store remains due to habits.

A new feature is also the loyalty program. Every purchase allows you to collect points in our store, which you can then exchange for products available in the assortment. A very nice addition for loyal customers who frequently shop at Home Screen.

What else is new? Look around and check for yourself πŸ™‚

  • What’s new for Galaxy Note 8 on the Home Screen

Stylish Ringke case for Samsung Galaxy Note 8, made using the highest quality materials, combining the best protection for your smartphone with a great look. Available colors will satisfy even the most demanding Galaxy Note 8 users, and the variety of models will ensure that the smartphone is safe in any situation.

If you value durability and maximum resistance, the best solution will be the Ringke Onyx case, which, in addition to its unique design with a brushed aluminum effect, is characterized by the highest resistance to damage and scratches, as confirmed by the MIL STD 810G-516.6 certificate.

If your priority is the unique look of the smartphone, the ideal choice will be the Air Prism or Air Prism Glitter case made of TPU for Samsung Galaxy Note 8, which combines slimness (only 1.3mm thick), a distinctive prism shape, and protection against damage.

Elegant appearance with reliable protection is combined in the Ringke Fusion – a transparent case characterized by a hardened antistatic coating and a flexible frame that absorbs falls, made of PC and TPU, meeting military standards.

Simple design, uniform appearance, and slimness that does not affect the size and shape of the smartphone – all this is provided by the Ringke Slim case for Galaxy Note 8. It is aimed at those who value comfort of use, thanks to the use of the highest quality materials, achieving a thickness of only 1mm without losing protective properties.

A novelty among Ringke products – Wave. Unique design, elegance, and excellent smartphone protection are something you cannot ignore.

Additionally, to maintain the great condition of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, the Invisible Defender screen film can help, which protects against scratches on the entire surface of the display, including the rounded edges. Equipped with antistatic technology, it does not leave fingerprints on the screen and does not affect the operation of the touch panel in any way.

  • iPhone X case now in store!

Finally, it’s here! The anniversary smartphone was presented in a unique place and under unique circumstances!

It’s been 10 years since Steve Jobs presented the world with the first version of the iPhone and revolutionized the mobile phone market.

On September 12, 2017, in the building named Steve Jobs Theater, built in honor of the late creator of Apple’s power, the presentation of the latest version of the iconic smartphone (iPhone 8) took place, and the anniversary iPhone X saw the light of day!

The iPhone X brings the biggest changes to the Apple phone series since its inception. The characteristic Home button has been abandoned, and the screen has been maximally stretched, filling the entire front panel. Quoting information from Apple’s official website: “It doesn’t have a screen, it is a screen.”

The casing of the new iPhone is a combination of glass and metal. This is another change, as the giant from Cupertino abandoned the glass casing some time ago, equipping subsequent versions with metal casings.

Apple has finally opted for an OLED technology screen. The 5.8-inch screen has a rarely seen resolution of 2436×1125 pixels, a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and is equipped with technologies such as HDR, True Tone, and 3D Touch.

The iPhone X uses the same chip as the iPhone 8, the A11 Bionic. The 6-core microprocessor is characterized by powerful performance and is considered one of the fastest computing systems available on the market.

The most mysterious and controversial feature is Face ID. The well-known fingerprint reader function has been replaced by facial recognition. By scanning your face, you can not only unlock the phone but also authorize payments in the Apple Pay system or log into popular applications. The scanner is supposed to be much more reliable and secure than the fingerprint reader. How will it be? Time will tell. However, we can boldly say that the future is coming.

In the Home Screen store, you can already find cases for iPhone X, and soon glass and other protective accessories for this model will appear. We always choose products that meet Apple’s standards and do not interfere with the daily use of the phone.

Check out our assortment of cases for iPhone X that have already appeared!

  • Spigen brand case now in Home Screen’s assortment

Recently, a lot of new products have appeared in our store in terms of introduced brands. It is worth noting that Spigen brand products have also appeared, which is one of the leading manufacturers dealing with the production of protective accessories for mobile devices. It is direct competition for the Korean brand Ringke, so we can confidently say that we are talking about maintaining the highest quality and the highest precision in designing and creating cases.

The models we have introduced to the Home Screen assortment are:

    Neo Hybrid

Great protective hybrid case, which is the result of the desire to combine the most important advantages of polyurethane and polycarbonate. The first of the materials used allows for excellent shock absorption, high scratch resistance, and, thanks to its rubbery structure, greatly increases the grip of the set in the hand. Meanwhile, the hard polycarbonate binds the construction, stiffens it, evenly distributing the energy generated as a result of, for example, a fall, creating a great duo. Slimness is another advantage here, as the Neo Hybrid is a very ergonomic and comfortable choice.

    Rugged Armor

A case that can boast a raw, almost military look, but the inserts with a carbon fiber texture are not cold carbon, but pleasant-to-touch polyurethane. It provides great protection in everyday use and a great, secure grip, which is allowed by polyurethane, reminiscent of rubber in consistency.

    Rugged Armor Extra

Reinforced version of Rugged Armor, which may interest with “pumped” corners and a special Hexa-Core structure on the back of the case, to further reduce the slipperiness of the case in the hand and protect the smartphone from accidental drops.

    Liquid Air

Something for fans of slim shapes – Liquid Air is a case that does not interfere with the shape of the device, which fantastically protects against scratches. Entirely made of TPU, thanks to which, like all presented Spigen models, prevents the smartphone from slipping out of the hand.

However, this is just the beginning, and over time, many more Spigen models will appear. As you can see, we are constantly expanding our assortment so that you can choose a case best suited to your taste and needs. We exist for you and want to help you.

  • How to choose a case for your needs

The abundance of products on the market aimed at protecting smartphones is so vast that customers are left with a selection like “more expensive = better.” This is not true, and this article will help you tailor a case to your needs.

It is often the case that models of cases offering better protection are more expensive than their less rugged counterparts. But is such a case the best choice? It turns out, it is not. For people who try to take care of their smartphone, a reinforced, thick, waterproof case that barely fits in a pants pocket is not necessary. However, such protection is needed for devices of people who spend their time actively. Let’s first clarify what a case is and what its purpose is.

A cover for our smartphone helps mitigate scratches and damage caused by everyday use of the device. It allows the phone to remain in impeccable visual condition and, in many cases, most importantly, protects against shocks and impacts, which can be costly for our wallet. The priority when choosing a case should always be comfort and ease of use. We should not force ourselves to invest in a case that will significantly enlarge the device when we don’t really need it. What good is it that our smartphone will be excellently protected if every attempt to reply to a message irritates us? Let’s choose cases tailored to our needs, and it so happens that our team has tested a vast number of case models and we can speak on this topic.

    Slim Cases

The market for slim cases, which seemingly only adorn the smartphone, enjoys extraordinary recognition from users who have already tested this type of case. This group includes all sorts of slim cases made from a single type of material – soft polyurethane or hard polycarbonate. What can we say about this type of cover? In my opinion – it is sufficient protection for most people who care about their smartphone even minimally and are bothered by having something thicker on their device. An example that I am very familiar with could be the MSVII case, in which the Xiaomi Mi5 experienced several more serious falls over the year. The side effect is that after removing the case, the smartphone looks almost like new. Although the screen is protected by tempered glass, the glass back was excellently protected and does not have a single scratch.

    Hybrid Cases

Hybrid constructions are a recommended alternative for almost everyone who normally uses their smartphone. They are not afraid of falls, do not need incredibly thin covers, the phone is simply meant to serve. Devices equipped with a hybrid case + tempered glass are a set that will not be afraid of everyday use. Scratches, falls from small heights, shocks – a hybrid case gives a great chance that nothing will happen to our smartphone. Very often, premium brand cases (e.g., brands like Ringke or Spigen) have a military certificate MIL-STD-810G, which means that the manufacturer declares performing durability tests that involve dropping the smartphone several times from heights of 1.2m and 1.8m. This does not give us a 100% guarantee, of course, but it gives a general idea of durability and level of protection. Because if we try hard enough, we can even damage an old Nokia 3310 πŸ™‚

    Rugged Protection

Cases intended for people who spend their time actively or whose work involves physical, intense activity. Many materials on, for example, YouTube show what these types of cases can do. It is a relatively expensive and less convenient solution than hybrid constructions, but if, due to conditions, we want to protect our smartphone as best as possible, rugged products will be a great solution. Some rugged products, like Atomic Ghostek, allow for the tight sealing of the smartphone in the case, thus cutting it off from water, dust, and dirt.

    Flip Cases

A type of cover that has both its supporters and opponents. The flap covering the screen allows for its proper protection provided we are not using the smartphone at the time. Typically, this type of case is a hybrid of a silicone cover mounted in a closing construction, often filled with polyurethane. We must decide for ourselves whether such a case meets our requirements – from experience, I can say that it is quite a troublesome type of case if we often mount the smartphone in car holders and if we operate the smartphone with only one hand, as it does not allow for a full grip of each edge of the case. But that’s just my subjective feeling and many people highly praise this type of solution due to, for example, better protection. DuxDucis is currently the only manufacturer whose flip cases we offer in our store.

    Different Cases for Different Occasions?

The ideal way seems to be having different types of cases for different smartphone usage conditions. In everyday use, choose, for example, hybrid constructions, and during a mountain trip, put a more rugged model on our device, which will prevent damage to our phone if it accidentally falls. There is no perfect case – otherwise, there would only be one model on the market that suits everyone in every situation. And that will never be the case.

In summary: the choice of case is up to you. You must determine your needs and choose a product that is tailored to them. If you have doubts – you can always contact us before purchasing, and we will try to help you choose the right solution.

  • MSVII after half a year of use on Xiaomi Mi5

You often wonder if the case you intend to buy serves any protective function, besides defending the device from scratches. How can a layer of plastic less than a millimeter thick absorb the impact and not cause even more damage to the smartphone… This is about the MSVII brand case, which is characterized by an extremely slim design and raises doubts among many customers. This article is being written for this reason, as I am not a fan of dressing my Mi5 in a large, cumbersome, armored cover, and MSVII initially seemed to me to be a rather interesting alternative to a smartphone without a case, but scratched and scuffed.

It so happens that even before MSVII was introduced to our assortment, Dawid decided to give me one piece of this case for testing, so I have quite a long testing period behind me. But let’s start from the beginning…

    Appearance

It cannot be denied that MSVII is a very minimalist product in appearance – the entire back part is a smooth surface, only the lower part is tastefully signed with the manufacturer’s name, its motto, and country of origin.

I really like the solution regarding the side buttons – they are completely exposed. Although this makes them susceptible to damage and such issues (I will talk about this later in the review), it makes the case stand out in the market and thanks to such small details, it can be appealing. It suits me perfectly.

    Comfort

The MSVII case is a very slim construction – the manufacturer declares 0.7mm, according to my inaccurate measurements, this is roughly true. The slimness ensures quick adaptation of the hand to the new shape and, in my opinion, the Mi5 with MSVII fits much better in the hand. This less than a millimeter is a noticeable difference in grip and comfort of use.

The manufacturer also ensured easy installation of the case on the device and three corners of the case are cut – this prevents cracks and unnecessary stress during putting on and taking off the cover.

A better grip is also provided by the rubber coating, which is simply great. The smartphone sticks very well to the hand (in a nice sense of the word) and it never slipped out of my hand during use. I suspect that this coating is responsible for the popularity of this model of case – I suspect that without it my tests would have ended after a maximum of 2 hours – with a broken Mi5 and the cover in the fire.

    Durability and Protection

Half a year of using the case is quite a long trial and I think I can properly comment on the durability of MSVII products.

The material from which the case is made is polycarbonate. It must be a good quality material because (except for the most exposed areas) the cover almost does not crack, and in places of impact, there are only dents. Additionally, the case is quite flexible, which does not have much significance in use, but a lot in transport, as we have relatively few complaints about damaged MSVII right after being taken out of the package – we all know how couriers can treat our shipments…

My copies have already collected quite a large collection of scratches, but in daylight, it is not noticeable. The blue piece even participated in a not very soft landing on a few concrete steps (in a hurry I missed the pocket with the phone) and we see two dents on it, but they have almost no impact on the appearance or functionality of the case. However, here one of the disadvantages, which I also consider an advantage, was highlighted – the exposed button panel. During falls and impacts, there is simply no option that we will not scratch the frame of the smartphone in this place. It looks interesting, but unfortunately – you win some, you lose some. Fortunately, for some smartphone models, the manufacturer offers cases with a covered button section – it is worth contacting our store before purchase and simply asking.

    Summary and Price

At first, I thought I would test the product for a few days and return to the thick and clunky (compared to MSVII) Ringke Fusion, but the truth turned out to be different. The case performs excellently in everyday use and, as long as you are not a fan of dropping your smartphone and try to take at least a little care of it, it is worth considering purchasing the MSVII case. My copies have survived with me for over half a year and although they no longer look like they were freshly taken out of the box, I am still impressed with their durability.

At this price, it is hard to find a better quality case that will be slim, match the durability of MSVII, and be so comfortable in everyday use. Additionally, we sell the MSVII case for most device models in a set with tempered glass, which will further enhance the protection of your smartphone.

  • The premiere of the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus is coming!

There is little time left until the launch of the new flagship models from the Korean manufacturer – Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus. How will they be better than their predecessors?

    Appearance

Many people are disappointed by the lack of revolution, as Samsung decided to refine only a few elements, leaving the appearance almost unchanged. One of the changes is the arrangement of the cameras and the fingerprint reader – they will not be arranged horizontally, but vertically, which is definitely supposed to improve the comfort of using the smartphone. As you can see, the Korean giant listens to its customers and improves what didn’t work out in the previous revolution.

The sizes of the smartphones will be very similar or identical to the previous series, and when combined with a very similar appearance, people using the S8 or S8 Plus will not have to take long to get their hands used to the shape of the device.

    Cameras

The new generation of the Galaxy series can boast an extremely bright and adjustable aperture of f/2.4- f/1.5 in the 12Mpix camera. The larger model will also have a dual camera. According to the latest leaks, the new generation of Samsung’s systems will allow recording videos at up to 960 frames per second.

The front camera in both cases is a single 8Mpix camera. Interestingly, the iris scanner in the smaller version will be integrated with the camera, while in the S9 Plus, the scanner and camera will be separate sections.

    Technical Specifications

Samsung, whether they wanted to or not, followed Apple’s path, so we can expect that the Plus version will not only be larger but will also have better components. This refers to a larger amount of RAM (6GB vs 4GB) and the use of a dual camera in the S9+.

Credit should be given to Samsung for not following the crowd, and in its latest model, we will have the standard, normal, well-known 3.5mm Jack socket. Additionally, there is support for SD cards, as well as a dust and waterproof IP68-rated casing.

It seems that the Samsung Galaxy S9 no longer holds any secrets from us. We are left to await the official presentation, which is to take place at this year’s MWC in Barcelona on February 25. Accessories and cases for the Galaxy S9 will also soon appear with us, so we invite you to follow us on social media and sign up for our newsletter!

  • Spigen case offer for Galaxy S9 / S9 Plus

It is a combination of TPU with an interesting pattern and a polycarbonate frame that adds uniqueness while strengthening the construction. The colors available for the Galaxy S9 are Gunmetal (metallic), Shiny Black (glossy black), Liliac Purple (purple), Pale Dogwood (shady). It is the best combination of great protection and unique design.

    Spigen Rugged Armor Galaxy S9

Simple in construction and at the same time effective in protection during everyday use – this is how the Rugged Armor model can be described. Built entirely from thermoplastic urethane with a matte finish that does not collect fingerprints. The appearance is enhanced by inserts imitating woven carbon fiber. The case comes in black and is dedicated to those looking for simple drop protection with uncomplicated design.

    Spigen Liquid Air Galaxy S9

A minimalist case for the Galaxy S9 with a unique, geometric pattern. The case is more streamlined than the Rugged Armor model and enlarges the device to a lesser extent. It protects the device from minor drops but enhances user comfort due to its small dimensions. Thanks to the use of matte TPU, this model is perfect for everyday use. If you are looking for a minimalist case for the Galaxy S9, Liquid Air will be the perfect choice.

These are the 3 most popular Spigen models for the Galaxy S9, and they will certainly meet the requirements of users who value interesting design and the highest quality workmanship.

  • LG G7 ThinQ – what do we know?

Let’s summarize all the information about the new work of the Korean giant. The premiere of the flagship model LG G7 ThinQ will take place on May 2 in New York. The phrase “ThinkQ” is not accidental – LG uses this term for all its products that utilize artificial intelligence. What will change compared to the previous flagship?

The design of the device itself differs slightly due to the different arrangement of the camera lenses compared to the LG G6, currently, the camera layout will be vertical. The trend for the “notch” has also crept into LG’s latest product and this characteristic screen cutout already known from competing Apple or Huawei models will also appear in the G7 – users not fond of this type of solution can effectively mask it by displaying a black frame around the “notch”. While we’re on the screen, it’s worth mentioning that it will be 6.1” and will be produced using LCD technology and its brightness is expected to reach up to 1000 nits. The screen proportions are an unusual 19.5:9, and the resolution is QHD+ (3120 x 1440px) – LG has named it Super Bright Display. According to publicly available leaks, the new flagship will be equipped with a Snapdragon 845 processor, 4-6GB RAM, and a 3000mAh battery.

At launch, the LG G7 is expected to be available in five colors: black, gray, blue, matte blue, and pink. Unfortunately, there is no information yet on whether all colors of the device will be available in all markets.

We are pleased that LG, in its latest product, has not forgotten about fans of traditional headphones and at the bottom of the casing there is a 3.5mm Jack input. In an era of following trends, which unfortunately translate to lower practicality, the manufacturer should be praised for retaining the classic headphone jack.

Accessories and cases for the LG G7 will soon appear in the Home Screen store, so we invite you to follow us on social media and subscribe to the newsletter!
