Three items from this table deserve a comment. Dual-frequency GPS is responsible for the accuracy of the track in the city, between tall buildings. UWB (ultra-wideband) is precise short-range location technology used, among other things, for unlocking the car.

The third is satellite SOS, which is a call for help via satellite outside the range of the cellular network. In Poland, the feature will work if Google makes it available in our market.

A thickness of 12.3 mm is exactly the same as in its predecessor. The case has not grown by a millimeter, which has very specific consequences for accessories; we will return to this below.

Let’s be clear: Pixel Watch 5 is an iteration, not a generational leap. The same processor, the same case, the same screen. The memory changes, the battery increases by a few percent, and a new version of the system appears.

The most important item in this table is RAM. Two gigabytes in Watch 4 were a bottleneck for Gemini features. The assistant operates locally on the watch, and the memory ran out faster than it should have. Three gigabytes should eliminate stutters when switching apps.

The rest of the changes are cosmetic. The battery is 2% larger, with the same declared battery life. The doubled data memory, 64 GB instead of 32 GB, will mainly be useful for offline music. Wear OS 7 will also come to the fourth generation in a regular update.

However, the price increases by 50 USD. Google does not explain why; it is most likely due to the doubled memory and rising component costs.

Health and sensors — what the new Google watch measures

The set of sensors is complete and matches what the predecessor offers:

Most likely yes, and this is the most important practical information in this article. The case retains the dimensions of 41 and 45 mm and a thickness of 12.3 mm, just like its predecessor.

Straps

In Google watches, the compatibility of the strap is determined by the size of the case, not the generation. The attachment has not changed since the first Pixel Watch.

Design — two different approaches

Nothing surprised, giving each model a distinct visual identity.

Phone 4a continues the iconic transparent design. Under the Gorilla Glass 7i, the internal components — coils, screws, and PCB structures — are visible. The new colors pink and blue have a tinted layer beneath the transparent panel, creating a subtle, pastel effect.

Phone 4a Pro is a completely different story. Nothing has given up the transparent back in favor of a metal unibody made of aluminum. It is the slimmest Nothing in history (7.95 mm). It looks more premium, but loses some of its “nothing-ness” character. The transparent elements have been limited to the camera island.

The common denominator is Glyph. In the 4a model, it is the Glyph Bar — 7 square LED segments in a strip. In the Pro — Glyph Matrix with 137 mini-LEDs arranged in a circular field. The Matrix displays animated notifications, charging progress, and responds to Live Updates from Android 16.

Camera — periscope in a mid-range for 1,599 PLN

This is the biggest highlight of the 4a series. The 50 MP periscope telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom and OIS is something that did not exist in the previous generation Nothing Phone 3a. The 50 MP sensor with PDAF and optical stabilization provides sharp photos even in low light.

The Pro model gets a better main sensor — Sony LYT700c — and a dual hybrid zoom (140x vs 70x in the standard 4a). Both models record in 4K with Dolby Vision and Ultra XDR.
