Huawei Watch GT 7 has the same case dimensions, the same screen, the same sensors, and the same battery life in days as the GT 6. The novelties are mainly software-related: an expanded skiing mode with slope maps, ascent planning for cyclists, a new EasyCross strap, and new frame designs around the screen.
The short answer: it’s usually not worth upgrading from GT 6 to GT 7. The exception is skiers and cyclists who will benefit from the new modes. Note regarding accessories: straps of the same width should fit, but glasses and films from GT 6 do not fit GT 7.
According to foreign services, Huawei unveiled the GT 7 in China on August 5, 2026, and sales in Europe started on September 2. The watch is already available in the Polish Huawei store. Below is a point-by-point comparison and an answer regarding which accessories from GT 6 can be retained.

Versions of Huawei Watch GT 7
The GT 7 series has the same sizes as the GT 6:
- GT 7 46 mm: stainless steel case, 1.47-inch screen.
- GT 7 41 mm: smaller version with a 1.32-inch screen.
- GT 7 Pro 46 mm: titanium case, sapphire glass, ECG, and breath-hold diving up to 40 m.

In the Polish Huawei store on October 12, GT 7 was priced at a promotional rate starting from 999 PLN, and GT 7 Pro from 1499 PLN. GT 6 can be purchased from Huawei for about 900–950 PLN, and GT 6 Pro for 1399 PLN.

Case, screen, and sensors: unchanged
Here is the biggest surprise. The case dimensions are identical in all three sizes, to the hundredth of a millimeter. The screens have the same diagonal, resolution of 466 × 466, and brightness of up to 3000 nits.
The list of sensors is the same, as is the dual-band GPS and 5 ATM with IP69 resistance. Huawei does not announce a new generation of the TruSense heart rate sensor with the GT 7. The Pro versions of both generations have ECG and certification for breath-hold diving up to 40 m.
The appearance of the bezel around the screen has changed. The GT 7 has a new, clearer bezel design, while the GT 7 Pro has a raised ceramic bezel instead of a titanium one with a scale. This matters for glasses and cases, as discussed below.
Battery: the same days, different numbers with GPS
In watch mode, the battery lasts the same: up to 21 days in the 46 mm and Pro versions and up to 14 days in the 41 mm version.
With GPS on, Huawei reports more hours for the GT 7: 51 instead of 40 in the 46 mm version and 32 instead of 25 in the 41 mm version. However, these numbers come from different tests. The GT 6 was measured in “outdoor sport” mode, while the GT 7 was measured in trail running mode with less frequent screen backlighting. Do not compare them directly.
New features: skiing, cycling, and health
The GT 7 differs from the GT 6 primarily in software:
- Skiing and snowboarding: the skiing mode was already present in the GT 6. New features include indoor mode, turn and overload analysis, and maps of over 3000 ski resorts in 59 countries.
- Cycling: planning climbs based on routes from the Huawei Health app, warnings about upcoming climbs, and sharp turns.
- GPS Accuracy: a new algorithm that according to Huawei draws a route in fast winter sports 20% more accurately than the GT 6.
- Health: fitness readiness indicator, TruSleep 5.0, and new health analysis features.
- Golf in Pro: distances considering the slope of the terrain. Maps of over 17,000 courses are also available on the GT 6 Pro.

Some features, including skiing modes and turn alerts, are provided by Huawei in updates. Not all work in every country.
If you have an iPhone, be aware of the limitations. According to the Huawei store, some GT 7 features, including notifications from messengers and replying to SMS, only work with Android. Similar limitations were present in the GT 6.
Does the strap from the GT 6 fit the GT 7?
The width of the straps has not changed. According to Huawei, both generations have:

A strap from the GT 6 of the same size should therefore fit the GT 7, just like the universal 22 mm and 18 mm straps with a quick-release. However, Huawei does not explicitly describe how the GT 7 strap attaches to the case.
For the GT 6, it mentioned the EasyFit quick-release system, while for the GT 7 it only describes the new EasyCross clasp. Before purchasing a new strap, remove the current one and check how it is attached.

The manufacturer does not list GT 6 or GT 7 among the compatible watches. They fit in width, but check the mounting method before purchasing.
Do the glass and film from GT 6 fit GT 7?
It’s better to buy new ones. Although the screen has the same size, the frame around it is different, so the manufacturers of the covers have cut the films for GT 7 anew. This is evident from the diameter of the Bizon HydroFlex film:

The biggest difference is in the Pro version. The film from GT 6 Pro is 2 mm larger, so it may sit on the raised frame of GT 7 Pro and protrude from the screen. 3mk, Bizon, and GrizzGlass have separate covers for GT 7, with different EAN codes.

Does the case from GT 6 fit GT 7?
The case dimensions are the same, but the frame is different, so the case from GT 6 should not be used interchangeably. Especially in GT 7 Pro, where the frame is raised. Bizon released a separate case for GT 7 Pro, instead of adding this model to the GT 6 Pro case.

Does the charger from GT 6 charge GT 7?
Huawei does not confirm this directly. Both models charge wirelessly through a cradle, and the power supply according to Huawei should be 5–10 V and up to 2 A. In the box of each watch, there is its own charger, and the GT 7 Pro comes with a second-generation wireless charger.
