Which tempered glass for the Samsung Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus?

Samsung has decided to take inspiration from the solutions that Middle Kingdom companies have been using in their smartphones for some time – it’s the ultrasonic fingerprint reader built into the device’s display. Undoubtedly, this is a great solution that makes it easier to use the smartphone (try unlocking with your finger a phone that is in a more built-in car mount, where the reader is placed on the back), while not taking up space on the front of the device. However, some sites have reported that tempered glass will not work with the fingerprint reader, built into the Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus. Are we sure it will?

Tempered glass for the Samsung S10 and S10 Plus. Which to choose?

One solution to the problem is to use protective films. And many users opt for this solution – because of the cost as well as the ease of installation. There are also people who do not need outstanding protection, and for them the film is an excellent choice – many of them can “self-heal” in the case of minor scratches. But what about users who do not like to compromise and want to have the Galaxy S10 screen protected by a sheet of glass?

On the Internet, versions of protective glass have appeared that have decided to remedy the problem and “offer” a hole in the place intended for the fingerprint scanner. It sounds and looks comical, but using a Samsung Galaxy S10 equipped with this type of tempered glass would quickly cease to be a funny curiosity and become an affliction and torture of the finger – if you don’t know what I’m talking about, imagine typing on a keyboard and matching your fingertip to the keys on the edges of the hole.

However, in order not to depict the world in such gray colors we have news for you – the manufacturers we work with have decided to create accessories that will not have any unsightly hole, and will be fully compatible with the fingerprint scanner in Samsung’s new flagships. The brands in question are WhiteStone and T-Max, which specialize in the production of protective glasses that use UV-cured adhesive for mounting. Users of the products from the aforementioned brands are satisfied and agree that this is one of the best solutions when it comes to protecting smartphones with curved displays.

WhiteStone declares that it uses advanced Liquid Optical Clear Adhesive (LOCA) technology, which is designed to prevent the formation of micro-spaces between the bonded smartphone and protective glass. As a result, the finger sensor is able to seamlessly capture pressure and read fingerprints. And the T-Max brand , which is the brainchild of Guangzhou Doho Digital Technology Co., Ltd. has announced that it will use 0.2mm thick Panda glass, which is supposed to be the optimal value in terms of protection and usability of the ultrasonic scanner. It seems that it’s all about the adhesive – as WhiteStone depicts – microspaces with glass with regular adhesive are normal, and UV adhesive spills out and fills in any pores and imperfections that are problematic for the fingerprint reader.
